At first, I thought that training outside was only temporary however I think that it is the best opportunity for people to be outside. I remember when I was primarily a student I used to work at the office and then train in the dojo so I was not getting much sunlight.
In the 80's and 90's, kids used to play outside, I used to play outside. Today, they just enjoy staying at home and play video games. They are missing out on the opportunity to enjoy nature and outdoor activities. It is very rare, today, to see kids on their bicycle or playing at the beach.
As a medical provider, I have been astonished to see that many people are deficient on vitamin D (an important vitamin for the bones). We cannot argue the fact that it is mostly sunny in southern California and yet, people are lacking of this important vitamin.
People are just spending more time inside. If we take this conversation to the extreme, a prolonged deficiency to vitamin D will lead to a medical condition called: Rickets.
According to the MayoClinic, Rickets is the softening and weakening of bones in children, usually because of an extreme and prolonged vitamin D deficiency.
Playing outside is crucial for a proper child development.
If you have been working all day, exercising outside will rejuvenate you.
Sunlight is very important for the health of our bones. It helps to create vitamin D which is essential for the reabsorption of calcium into our bones.
At Ventura Aikido, we want to promote a healthy lifestyle.
Sunshine and fresh air are essential for our mood and our mental health. The human body needs to be outside and be one with Nature.
Come and train with us and enjoy some fresh air!
